Welcome to Day 2 of Spanish class! ¡Aquí está la presentación que usamos de hoy!
Today in class, we...
- Created name-tents & equity cards with our Spanish names
- Every student wrote the SPANISH name he or she chose for himself on a white piece of paper.
- Then, every student wrote his or her SPANISH first name and his or her last name on a colored note card for Ms. Williams
- Show what you know!
- We counted off by 4, and went around to each large poster to write:
- the Spanish VOCABULARY we know,
- the Spanish GRAMMAR/VERBS/GENERAL STUFF (like phrases, greetings, numbers, etc.) we know,
- anything about Spanish, Latin American, and general Spanish-speaking CULTURE that we know, and
- what we WANT TO LEARN this year.
- We rotated every 2 minutes!
- ¡Celebración de la día de independencia!
- We talked about EL GRITO, and the history of the Mexican revolution for independence against SPAIN!
- Then, we watched and did El Grito ourselves!
- IF TIME: Fiesta with traditional Mexican food!
- IF WE HAD TIME:
- We began taking Cornell Notes on the Spanish names for the letters of the alphabet.
- Here are the guided notes for the Spanish alphabet.
- The whole alphabet, along with the SOUNDS each letter makes in Spanish, is written out here.
La tarea, or the HOMEWORK: Get the back page of the syllabus signed by a parent/guardian, and bring it back!!
