La agenda de miércoles, el 18 de noviembre

¡Hola hola, class!  Welcome back!  Here is our presentation that we used in class today!  (¡Usamos esta presentación hoy!)

  • Calentamiento
    • ¡Saquen ustedes sus lápices!
    • Take out your pencils!
    • Leave everything else on the floor (or an open chair.)
  • My expectations for the quiz
    • Remember, I don’t want there to be any doubt that you did what you did ON YOUR OWN, the best you could.
      • SO, to make sure, HERE ARE MY EXPECTATIONS:
      • if  you need to get up, PLEASE RAISE YOUR HAND FIRST.  Ms. Williams can come get your pencil; just raise your hand!!
      • if you have a question, please ask, QUIETLY.  The worst that can happen is Ms. Williams says “I can’t tell you that.”
      • Other than that, there is ABSOLUTELY NO TALKING.
      • YOU MAY ONLY GET UP WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED!
    • After looking over your written answers, please FILL IN THE BUBBLES of the answers you circled on the front side of your quiz!     
  • SCAN IN YOUR ANSWERS!
    • Please come to the LAPTOP, set up in front, and HOLD your bubble sheet up to the scanner!
    • It will SCAN IN your answers, and tell you how many out of 20 you got correct, AUTOMATICALLY!!
    • Ms. Williams will add in the # of points out of /40 later, when she grades your tests.
  • When you finish...
    • Please go through and check your: 
      • Capitalization
      • Punctuation ( ¡ ! ¿? . )
      • SPELLING
      • Accents
    • Use different parts of the test to help you with things you forgot!! Then, if you’re completely finished, you may turn in your quiz at the front and get a NEW vocab sheet.
  • Priorities for after you finish:
    • Get your vocabulary sheet & FILL IT IN with the English!
    • LABEL which words/sections  YOU KNOW (√), need to review (**) or practice spelling (SP) and DON’T KNOW (??)
    • Circle the  words you would use to describe yourself. 
    • Then, on the blank side of the book page,  write 3-5 sentences that say “I am ---.” and 1-2 sentences that say “I am NOT  ---.” IN SPANISH!
    • I am = Yo soy _____o/a.    I am NOT = Yo no soy…
    • CREATE YOUR PROOF YOU STUDIED!! → flashcards
  • Also, please let me know if you have any questions about MISSING ASSIGNMENTS!!

      • You may use THREE of these activities twice.   
    • CROSS OUT each one as we go, and let me know when you have BINGO!!  
      • YOU HAVE TO HAVE EVERYTHING SPELLED CORRECTLY FOR YOUR BINGO TO COUNT!! Good luck!
  • Grab the ducky/bouncy ball!
    • Let’s go through the words as fast as possible! 
    • We will start with the back table.  
    • When I change the flashcard, GRAB THE BALL/DUCKY and say what the activity is!
    • Then, pass the duck/ball to the next table!!  
  • Jeopardy!
    • One group will decide the category and the amount of each question. 
    • Then, in groups, ONE PERSON will write down ONE WORD until the whole table has written the answer!
    • Don’t forget to yell LISTOS (or LISTAS) when you’re ready!!
      • (This is from my friend, so we aren't going to do the "Misc" category.)

  • Calentamiento
    • ¡Saquen ustedes sus carpetas, la tarea, y los SAMs!
    • Please take out your notebooks, homework, & SAMS!
    • On your CALENTAMIENTO page, write the title “Calentamiento”, then, 
      • while we listen to the song,
      • look at the pictures!
      • Choose at least three things that you like to do!!
      • Write "me gusta” and try to write down as many as you do, too!
  • Check out different Spanish accents!
  • Get an iPad!
    • Get the correct iPad from the cart
    • (Take the right # for your name)
    • Write down if there’s anything wrong with the iPad before you sit down with it!!
    • Notice where it gets plugged in; you’ll need to put it back right where you got it!

  • Check your grade!
    • Go to the Sanford Site, click "Student Resources", and then click on "Student Portal"
    • OKAY.  Some of you haven’t turned stuff in, and it’s bringing your grade WAY DOWN!!
    • I want to give you credit for the work you have done, so please check over what you need to do and get it done!
  • Once you checked: GAME TIME!
    • Go to a new page on “Safari”
    • Go to the link: tinyurl.com/Ch1AGames  (Type it in just right!!)
    • There are lots of games here to practice the vocab!!  
      • And it’s available from home, too!!

  • Los apuntes (CONTINUED)
    • Write #5, to take the second-to-last notes for this unit:
      • We already know ONE question: Q: ¿Qué te gusta hacer? What do you like to do? Answer: “Me gusta _activity_.” 5. The NEW Question, today, is: Do you like to _? Q: ¿Te gusta _activity_? Ans 1: YES → Sí, me gusta _activity_. Ans 2: No → No, no me gusta _activity_. No, I DON’T like to…. HOW MANY NOs for a “DON’T” answer? DOS “NO”s!! → The 1st No = no; the 2nd no = don’t.
  • Get up and move activity!
    • ← LEFT side of the room (facing the board = NO) RIGHT side of the room (facing the board = YES) →
    • Ms. Williams will ask, "¿Te gusta _____?"
      • Decide if you DO like to (go to the right!) or DON'T like to do that activity (go to the left!) 
    • Then, yell out your answer!
  • Time to practice
    • We will do one side of the homework together!!

Since so many of you were gone today and yesterday, we used today as a catch-up day.

  • Calentamiento
    • ¡Saquen ustedes sus NOTEBOOKS, PROOF YOU STUDIED, y SAMs!
  • Apuntes: Catch-Up
    • Make sure you took the NOTES from YESTERDAY!
    • Here are the GUIDED NOTES, if you need them!
      • Me gusta ≠ I like it! 
        • GUSTAR = to be pleasing to
        • Me → to me    Te → to YOU (tú)  Le → to him/hee
      • So, GUSTAR usually changes 2 ways:
        • gusta → 1 thing (singular/it) ending → it is pleasing…    OR
        • gustan → 2+ things (plural/they) ending → they are pleasing
      • An infinitive verb = a verb that ends in AR, ER, or IR, which means “to _do something_”
        • Infinitive means there isn’t a subject OR a tense yet; there are infinite ways you could conjugate (or CHANGE) this verb! 
          • Example: to play → I play, he played, we will play, they would play, y’all would have played, etc!
        • So, there are three kinds of verbs, and we categorize them by their -ar, -er, or -ir endings!
      • What are the 3 kinds of verbs, again?
        • Categorize them!!! Write 10 verbs -- 6 AR, 2 ER, and 2 IR!!
      • PRACTICE!!  
        • ¿Qué te gusta hacer? 
          • Me gusta escuchar música  (write your own!).
        • ¿Qué NO te gusta hacer?
          • NO me gusta leer artículos políticos (write your own!).
  • La tarea
    • Let me know if you have any questions!
      • Be sure you get the two-sided homework done for Monday!
  • For the rest of class:
